This painting is named "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" By a Romanticism artist in Renaissance Era; 'Caspar David Friedrich'.
It is an Oil color on canvas from 1818, and now is shown in Kunsthalle Hamburg Museum in Germany (and I want to go so much)
I first saw this painting in my painting2 class, I might have seen it long time ago, but pretty much not sure about it.
My first impression towards this painting was that I saw a tall man on the Everest mountain...lol..well You've to admit that I looked at the man's stick first and thought that it was those hiker sticks.
Some experts said this painting is truly Romantic style, I do agree because most Romantic artists painted and composed their works like this way, even this painting was almost similar to his other painting 'The Sea of Ice'.
The meaning of this painting, the 'Wanderer' might mean the unknown future, or the long lost in some of translation. The future might be unclear and unpredictable, I tell from the way Friedrich composed the wanderer from the back looking toward the cloudy and foggy far in front of him.
